Have Fun With Tap (Katie Kasari)

Mondays: 8:15 to 9:00 p.m.
(Beginners; 13 and up - including adults)

This is a fun class that parents can do with their kids or just for fun and exercise. It's a very good cardio workout!

Beginner Pointe with Lisa Rook

Wednesdays: 5:30 to 6:15 p.m.
(ages 8 to 12)

Beginner pointe dancers must have previous ballet experience.

How to Buy Your First Pair of Pointe Shoes

  1. Leave no room for growth - the shoes should fit snug.
  2. A shoe should not be baggy when standing flat. There may be gaps, but nothing major.
  3. Stand in a second position (feet flat) and grande plie. Toes should just touch the front of the box. Toes should not be curling or jamming into the box.
  4. Choose the correct width. Still standing with your feet flat, make sure that your toes aren't overlapping or scrunched together. If they are, then you need to buy a wider pair of pointe shoes.
  5. Stand on toe of the pointe shoe. While on pointe you should not sink all the way down it the box. Also, the sales person should be able to pinch a small bit of fabric on the heel.
  6. Wear both pointe shoes before leaving the store. You need to fit both feet, and since there is no left or right in pointe shoes, put the two on and stand on both. One foot might be slightly larger or wider than the other, so you need to check both feet for a correct and comfortable fit.

Pilates for Teens and Adults with Lisa
