A Little Insight...
Our Studio of Dance and Performing Arts is a 'happy' place where our students enjoy dance, acting and voice in a truly non-competitive environment. We are experienced with many years of teaching and nurturing our students. We just graduated 3 girls with a collective total of 30 years with us. The year before? 6 girls-62 years. We are so proud of that!
We do NOT believe that children's weight should have anything to do with their ability to learn to dance. We want them to become happy with themselves and their bodies no matter what their shape or size.
We do NOT require "cookie cutter" attire as all our students are different and should be excited and feel super in their own dance attire-especially at 3 years old.
We do NOT create competitive dancers and require our students to take as many as five classes per week. This costs parents valuable time and money just to compete against other studios. This, we believe, is truly unnecessary. Our kids work together and not against each other! A nice lesson in life.
WE DO, However, give all of our students a beautiful, professional recital (Show) at the end of our 10 month season. We have become known throughout the community for our shows. We go 'all out' with great sound and beautiful lighting, giving ALL performers that Broadway Feeling!
We bring vast professional experience as choreographers, having staged over 21 musicals for Council Rock North, and producing 56 annual productions from our Studio. If experience with teaching children is important to you, then our Studio is the right choice and we thank you!
Classes Offered:
We offer an array of classes such as Ballet, Jazz, Pointe, Ballet Technique, Tap, Hip Hop, Voice, Lyrical Dance and Private Voice and Ballroom. Although we do not "push" multiple classes, sometimes we suggest an additional voice or dance class because we feel that students would benefit by these classes.

Registration Forms and Fee:
Please read and sign the Registration Form, and include the one-time registration fee with your completed form. Final placement for your child will not be given until the Enrollment Form and the required registration fee is received. The Registration Form must be filled out in its entirety. A copy will be sent to you upon request. Thank you for your cooperation.
Information:
We use e-mail almost exclusively to communicate with our families. Every other month, an e-newsletter will be sent and will include reminders, updates and all sorts of information that you’ll find useful. Please provide an e-mail address when completing your Enrollment Form so that you ca receive Studio Stuff, our bi-monthly e-newsletter.
Tuition Policy:
Trimester Payments: By enrolling in The Studio of Dance & Performing Arts, it is understood that your son/daughter us enrolled for the entire 10-month season, and you are expected to pay for the ENTIRE season. Trimester payments allow you to divide your tuition into 3 equal installments. The first installment is payable in September (when your son/daughter enrolls). The second installment is due in December and the third and final installment is due in March.
If your child misses a class due to sickness, schedule conflict, vacation, etc. you are still responsible for payment. Your child has the opportunity to make-up the missed class by coming to any of our other classes throughout the week.
Monthly Payment: You may make monthly payments starting in September and ending in June. There will be a $10.00 late fee assessed for all tuition received after the 10th of the month.
Costumes and Recital Fees:
Each student will need to purchase one costume which you may keep. We will do our best to ensure high quality at a reasonable price. I do not believe in high-priced costumes that the kids will only wear once. I will be collecting costume money in mid-January.
Visiting:
We encourage moms, dads, grandmas and grandpas to visit the classes. Take pictures, do videos, have fun. We only require that your visit is the last class of the month. Of equal importance, is the relationship of teacher to student. In the case of the little ones, sometimes it takes a while for the little ones to separate from mommy or daddy. We truly understand this and ask you to bear with the situation so everyone is comfortable and happy.
It is always a "good thing" to communicate with your teacher of any concerns you might have. Trust me, we always work it out.
Dress Code:
Dance attire of any style or color is fine. Ballet slippers are a must, and jazz shoes are recommended for the jazz and hip hop classes. Hair should be up in a bun or away from the face. No shorts, jeans, etc. Leotards, tights, capris, sweats, and any type of dancing clothing is O.K.
Bad Weather:
Please call (215) 968-8533 by 2:00 p.m. on the day in question. A message will be put on our answering machine as to the status of classes. If Council Rock is CLOSED due to inclement weather, the studio will automatically close.
And Finally ...
Thank you for enrolling at The Studio of Dance & Performing Arts, Inc. We will do our best to see that each and every student enjoys him or herself and has a happy experience whatever class they choose. I am looking forward to a fantastic, dancing year!
